One of the most relevant aspects of the restoration was the reuse of Pietra di Eboli, the traditional local stone, which has long been the primary material in the region’s architecture. In the restoration, we collaborated closely with a local stone carver— the last artisan in the region still skilled in working this material using the techniques passed down through generations. 

Together, we cataloged each piece, combining the precision of digital laser scanning with the craftsmanship of traditional methods. The laser survey meticulously documented every stone, ensuring that they were carefully stored and reused. This approach allowed us to preserve the original character of the building while also introducing new interventions where the stone had been too damaged to restore.
